Kate Townsend (Clinic Director), L.Ac., EAMP, is a Licensed Acupuncturist and East Asian Medical Practitioner with thirty years of experience in acupuncture, herbal medicine, bodywork and the healing arts. Over the last three decades Kate has trained with world-renowned physicians and healers throughout the U.S. and China, studying with pioneering leaders in the fields of Women's Health & Reproductive Medicine, Classical Chinese Herbal Medicine, Contemplative Movement & Meditation, and Manual Therapies.
In addition to Women's Health & Fertility, Kate specializes in Gut & Immune Disorders, Sleep Restoration & Brain Health, Trauma Relief & Pain Management. She takes great joy in assisting others on their path to health and embodied wellness working with time-honored healing modalities.

Susan Cox (Program Coordinator), is a lifelong proponent of natural health and healing. In addition to her extensive background in design, she has studied with experts in natural medicine ranging from Michio Kushi (founder of Macrobiotics) back in the 1970s to energy-based bodywork including Pranic Healing with Stephen Co throughout the 90s. Susan has practiced and taught Meditation, Traditional Thai Massage (Northern and Southern styles) and was instrumental in bringing Pranic Healing to the Midwest while teaching a number of students the Pranic Healing system. Besides being our program coordinator and one of our senior teachers, Susan is the founder of Relaunch_an innovative approach to transforming places, spaces, businesses and the people behind them, renewing authentic purpose and dreams.
Heather McCutcheon, LMT, is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki Practitioner. Heather is a passionate advocate of the transformative power of energy medicine. She is the founder of the “Reiki Brigade” a non-profit organization that provides community service and education about Reiki within underserved communities and social institutions. Heather is now available for private sessions, two Saturdays a month, at Root Medicine. She will also be facilitating classes in Reiki at the clinic. Heather is the author of “Connect the Dots; from Ad-exec to Energy Practitioner”. This book is included in the cost of Heather’s upcoming Reiki Workshop, or can be purchased online.
Beth Cohen is a Certified Thai Massage Practitioner, Beth became a Thai Bodyworker to teach others how to discover their optimal selves through living their best lives. Her passion for health, healing, and self-growth has allowed her to embrace Buddhist principles such as mindfulness, loving-kindness, empathy and compassion both personally and professionally. Committed to a balanced and active lifestyle for decades, Beth has found that meditation, massage, yoga, and essential oils offer healing properties for the mind/body complex, which she incorporates into her work in order to meet each client's individual and unique needs.
